My Laptop Funeral: Send Flowers or Donation...

Ok, so my grand plans to track my wine country vay-kay via blog/twitter/ facebook, were pretty much thwarted when, on Day 2, my laptop got hurled to the ground during some baggage wrangling. The funeral is Friday. SO, without decent cell reception or an internet cafe in sight I pretty much decided to enjoy the trip, soak it all in and play catch up when I got back. Luckily my camera was still in tact, so stay tuned for the all the pixelated tidbits!

Napa Day 1

We left around 4 am this morning and after getting about 2 hours of sleep the night before, I admit I slept through about the first 4 hours of the drive. BUT, I woke up for the best part. If you haven't driven the 1 Highway up the coast of California, it's really something you need to do before you die. Seriously. It's like the Pacific Ocean, forest, meadows and a tiny bit of the coast of Ireland all got together and decided to hold an Awesome Convention-for about 100 miles or so. I can show you pictures till I'm purple (insert Murphy Goode plug here) but nothing will compare to you actually peepin' it yourself!

Napa!

3 hours until we leave! I should be asleep, but too much to do. Glad I'm not driving. This trip comes at the absolute perfect time because it is going to allow me to intertwine my Murphy Goode experience, with my first wine country experience. Haven't been to Napa? Want to go now but can't? Never fear. I will be video chronicling my journey so you can see all of the fantastic places that the area has to offer. Our wonderful friend and wine rep, Therese, has planned a killer trip for us, with private tours as such lofty vineyards as Jordan, Joseph Phelps and Rubicon. And of course, what wine trip would be complete without a visit to...you guessed it...Murphy Goode. The trip begins in 3 hours!

The video

So, the first line description of what the MG video should be-as said by the MG job website itself- is ENTERTAINING! You, sitting at your kitchen table talking about yourself for 60 seconds may be somewhat interesting by itself, but not when it is combined with 500 other people doing the same thing. A few others (Craig Given)  have said it, but I'll say it again-take a risk! Do something engaging. We all know how to blog and twitter and facebook. But the Goode people are looking for a standout. Someone who can garner other peoples attention and direct it to their fantastic wine. If you can't do that in 60 seconds...how will you do it in 6 months? Now I may be rolling out the red carpet for my competition (those who haven't already submitted their video), but I am confident that all my hard work, and karaoke singing, will pay off.

Napa!

Follow me on my first Napa trip! We leave Sunday...can't wait!
Hey All!

So, I know I have been absent, BUT, that is just because I have been working round the clock to finish my video for the Murphy Goode job! All while trying to plan my first trip to Napa! Well, the video is done, and I have to say that, although I'm thinking positive, even if I don't get the job I have the time of my life making the video. Jason, my all around video guy was FANTASTIC! And I found new and exciting ways to make a fool of myself.

Please check it out and vote!

Getting ready to hit the beach for the second to last day of my MG video application shoot. I have to say that I REALLY want this job, BUT, even if I don't get it, I have had SO much fun shooting. Jason, my director/DP/ camera man/ artistic director has been AWSOME! And I've really enjoyed making a fool of myself on numerous occasions. I can't wait to see the final product!
